perceive to come to an opinion about something, or have a belief about something
divorce an official or legal process to end a marriage
admit to agree that something is true, especially unwillingly
trait a particular characteristic that can produce a particular type of behaviour
genetic belonging or relating to genes (= parts of the DNA in cells) received by each animal or plant from its parents
nativist a person who supports the idea of nativism (= the idea that people who were born in a country are more important than people who have come to the country from somewhere else)
ancestor a person related to you who lived a long time ago
statistic information based on a study of the number of times something happens or is present, or other numerical facts
argue to speak angrily to someone, telling that person that you disagree with them
definition a statement that explains the meaning of a word or phrase
outline the main shape or edge of something, without any details
thesis a long piece of writing on a particular subject, especially one that is done for a higher college or university degree
strategy a detailed plan for achieving success in situations such as war, politics, business, industry, or sport, or the skill of planning for such situations
comparison the act of comparing two or more people or things
appreciate to recognize how good someone or something is and to value them or it
