waves

QuestionAnswer
wave a distribution that transfer energy from one place to another without transferring
mechanical wave a wave that only through matter.
medium a material in which a wave travels.
transverse wave a wave in which the distribution Is perpendicular to the direction the wave travels
longitudinal wave causes the particles in medium to move parallel to the direction that the waves travels
sound wave a longitudinal wave that can travel only through matter
Frequency waves have another property called frequency
wavelength the distance between one point on a wave to the same point on the next wave is the wavelength
amplitude the maximum distance that the wave moves from its rest position
pitch how high or low a sound seems
