GLOSARIO DE FUNCIONE

QuestionAnswer
Variable Independiente Es el valor que eliges libremente (entrada). Suele estar en el eje horizontal.
Variable Dependiente Es el valor que resulta de la función; depende de lo que valga (x). Suele estar en el eje vertical.
Dominio Es el conjunto de todos los posibles valores de entrada (x) para los cuales la función está definida.
Recorrido Es el conjunto de todos los valores de salida (y) que la función realmente produce.
Creciente La función sube si la miras de izquierda a derecha (al aumentar (x), aumenta (y).
Decreciente La función baja si la miras de izquierda a derecha (al aumentar (x), disminuye (y).
Punto de Corte Lugares donde la gráfica cruza los ejes (X) o (Y)
Continuidad Una función es continua si puedes dibujarla sin levantar el lápiz.
Máximo/Mínimo Puntos más altos o más bajos de la gráfica (común en parábolas).
Función Lineal (y=mx+b): Forma una línea recta. Forma una línea recta.
Función Constante (y=c) Forma una parábola (una curva en forma de U).
Función Constante (y=c) La salida es siempre la misma, sin importar la entrada. La línea es horizontal.
Tabla de Valores Una tabla que muestra pares de puntos (x,y).
Gráfica La representación visual en el plano (XY).
Verbal Una descripción con palabras ("el doble de un número").
