QuestionAnswer
What are balanced chemical equations? gives the amount of reactant and product molecules that participate in a chemical reaction
What do coefficients do in balanced equation give the relative number of molecules`
What can balanced equations do> Predict the moles of a product based off the final yield
What is a mole ratio? Allows us to convert from moles of one substance in a balanced equation to moles of a second substance in the equation
What is the limiting reagent. The reactant that is completely consumed in a chemical reactions, the reactant that determines how much product will be formed.
What is the excess reagent. A need that is still present after t he reaction is complete.
What is the percent yield? Important indicator of the efficiency of a particular laboratory or industrial reaction • Comparison of the actual yield of a product to its theoretical yield
What is theoretical yield The maximum amount of a given product that can be formed when the limiting reactant is completely consumed − The amount of product actually obtained is usually less.
What is actual yield Actual yield, or the amount actually produced, of a reaction is usually less than the maximum expected, or theoretical yield
What is energy Ability to do work or produce heat.
Law of conservation energy Energy can be converted from one form to another but can be neither created nor destroyed – The total energy content of the universe is constant
Work Physics definition is- Force X distance=work – Chemistry definition is- Pressure X Volume=work
Heat A measure of the average kinetic energy of particles
Calorie Heated required to raise 1 gram of water 1 degrees celsius
Potential energy `energy due to position and composition
Kinetic energy

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
