Amendment 1 Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition
Amendment 2 Right to keep and bear arms
Amendment 3 No forced quartering of soldiers in private homes
Amendment 4 Protection from unreasonable searches and seizures; warrants require probable cause
Amendment 5 Due process, no self-incrimination, no double jeopardy, compensation for government takings
Amendment 6 Rights of the accused in criminal trials (speedy trial, jury, lawyer, witnesses)
Amendment 7 Right to jury trial in certain civil cases
Amendment 8 No excessive bail or fines; no cruel and unusual punishment
Amendment 9 People have rights beyond those listed in the Constitution
Amendment 10 Powers not given to federal government belong to states or people
Amendment 11 Limits lawsuits against states in federal court
Amendment 12 Separate Electoral College votes for President and Vice President
Amendment 13 Abolishes slavery and involuntary servitude (except criminal punishment)
Amendment 14 Citizenship, due process, and equal protection under the law
Amendment 15 Protects voting rights regardless of race, color, or previous condition of servitude
