Angles Vocab

Acute Angle Angle that measures greater than 0 degrees but less than 90 degrees
Obtuse Angle Angle that measures greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees
Right Angle An angle that measures exactly 90 degrees
Straight Angle An angle that measures exactly 180 degrees
Complementary Angles Two angles whose sum is exactly 90 degrees
Supplementary Angles Two angles whose sum is exactly 180 degrees
Adjacent Angles Two angles that share a common side and vertex
Vertical Angles Angles that are opposite from each other when formed by intersecting lines, equal to each other
Congruent Equal in measure
Bisect Cut in half
Parallel Lines Never intersect each other
Transversal A line that cuts through 2 or more lines
Corresponding Angles that are in the same "position"
Alternate Interior Inside the parallel lines on opposite sides of the transversal
Alternate Exterior Outside that parallel lines on opposite sides of the transversal
