| Brightness | the amount of white or black added to a color; sometimes called a tint or shade. |
| Caption | a text label that identifies an illustration such as a figure, table, or picture. |
| Contrast | the difference between color values in different parts of the same image. |
| Fill | the inside area of a shape or other object. |
| Outline | the border that defines the outer boundary of a shape or other object. |
| Saturation | the intensity or depth of a color. |
| Shadow | an effect designed to give the appearance of a shadow behind a border. |
| Tone | the amount of gray added to a color. |
| Border | a line placed on one or more sides of a paragraph, page, or text box. |
| Diagram | a chart or graph usually used to illustrate a concept or describe the relationship of parts to a whole. |
| WordArt | a feature of Word used to transform text into a drawing object. |
