Addition Sum, plus, total, addend
Subtraction Difference, minus, decrease, take away, subtract
Multiplication Product, times, multiply, times as much
Division Quotient, divide, dividend (number being divided), divisor (number dividing), remainder
Integers Whole numbers, their opposites, and zero
Factor A number that divides another exactly
Multiple The product of a given number and an integer
Reciprocal The multiplicative inverse of a number (e.g., flip the numerator and denominator)
Prime Number A number with only two factors: 1 and itself
Composite Number A number with more than two factors
Expression A mathematical phrase without an equal sign
Equation A statement showing two expressions are equal
Variable A letter representing an unknown number
Sum Added to, increased by, more than, total
Difference Less than, decreased by, reduced, take away
Product Times, doubled, tripled, of
Quotient Divided by, ratio, split.
