Waves

The study of waves and their properties

Wave wave is a disturbance that transfers energy to one place to another without transferring matter .
mechanical waves is a wave that travels only through matter
medium a physical substance or material (solid, liquid, or gas) through which energy, such as sound or light waves, propagates, transmits, or travels.
Transverse wave is a wave in which the disturbance Is perpendicular to the direction the waves travels
Longitude wave Causes the particles in a medium to move parallel to the direction that the wave travels .
sound wave sound wave is a longitudinal wave that can only travel through matter
Wave length the distance between one point on a wave to the same point on the next wave
frequency the number of times the waves repeat in a given time
pitch Means if the sound is high or deep.
Amplitude the maximum distance that the waves moves from its rest position
