8. Affinity: Strength of binding between drug and receptor.
9. Agonist: Drug that activates a receptor to produce an effect
10. Antagonist: Drug that blocks receptor activation
11. Bioavailability: Portion of drug reaching systemic circulation.
12. First-Pass Effect: Inactivation of oral drugs by liver and intestines before reaching circulation
13. Blood-Brain Barrier: Protective barrier allowing only select substances into CNS
14. Pharmacogenetics: Study of how genetics affect drug responses
15. Half-Life: Time for half a dose to be eliminated
16. Onset: When drug first begins its effect
17. Peak: Highest concentration of drug in bloodstream
18. Duration: Length of therapeutic drug action
19. Dose-Response: Relationship between drug dose and effect.
20. Efficacy: Maximum achievable effect of a drug
21. Potency: Amount of drug needed to procedure an effect
22. Selectivity: Specificity of drug action.
23. Side Effect: Predictable but undesired secondary effects
24. Adverse Effect: Severe, unpredictable harmful reaction
25. Therapeutic Window: Safe and effective dosing range
26. Therapeutic Index: Comparison of effective vs toxic dose
27. Peak Level: Highest bloodstream concentration after dosing.
28. Trough Level: Lowest concentration before next dose
29. Prodrug: Inactive med requiring metabolic conversion to become active.

2. Dysphagia: Difficulty swallowing.
3. eMAR: Electronic medication administration record.
4. Enteral Medications: Drugs administered into the GI tract orally, rectally, or via tube.
5. Incident Report: Documentation of a medication error.
6. MAR: Paper medication administration record.
7. One-Time Order: Medication administered once
8. Prescriptions: Orders by authorized providers
9. PRN Order: Medication given as needed based on symptoms
10. Routine Order: Medication continued until cancelled
11. Safety Culture: Organizational emphasis on reporting errors.
12. Standing Order: Standard prescription implemented without initial provider notification
13. STAT Order: One-time immediate medication order.
14. Titration Order: Dose adjusted based on patient status.
1. Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI): Powder inhaler activated by strong inhalation
2. Inunction: Medication rubbed into the skin.
3. Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI): Inhaler delivering mist medication.
4. Small-Volume Nebulizer: Device delivering medicated mist
5. Topical Medications: Applied to skin or mucous membranes.
6. Transdermal Route: Patches delivering medication through skin over time.
1. Ampules: Small glass containers holding liquid medication
2. Bleb: Raised circle after intradermal injection indicating correct placement
3. Deltoid: IM injection site below acromion.
