| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Point | If a figure has no length, width, or depth and only indicates a position, then it is a point |
| Line | If a figure extends infinitely in two opposite directions with no thickness, then it is a line |
| Plane | If a flat surface extends indefinitely in all directions and contains points and lines, then it is a plane |
| Segment | If a part of a line has two endpoints, then it is a line segment |
| Ray | If a part of a line has one endpoint and extends infinitely in one direction, then it is a ray |
| Right angle | If an angle measures exactly 90°, then it is a right angle |
| Obtuse angle | If an angle measures greater than 90° but less than 180°, then it is an obtuse angle |
| Acute angle | If an angle measures less than 90°, then it is an acute angle |
| Straight angle | If an angle measures exactly 180°, then it is a straight angle |
| Adjacent angle | If two angles share a vertex and a common side but do not overlap, then they are adjacent angles |
| Linear pair | If two adjacent angles form a straight angle (180°), then they are a linear pair |
| Opposite rays | If two rays share an endpoint and extend in exactly opposite directions forming a straight line, then they are opposite rays |
| Supplementary angles | If two angles add up to 180°, then they are supplementary angles |
| Complementary angles | If two angles add up to 90°, then they are complementary angles |
| Vertical angles | If two intersecting lines create opposite angles, then those opposite angles are vertical angles |
| Parallel lines | If two lines lie in the same plane and never intersect no matter how far they extend, then they are parallel lines |
| Perpendicular lines | If two lines intersect to form right angles (90°), then they are perpendicular lines |
| Collinear points | If points lie on the same line, then they are collinear |
| Coplanar points | If points lie on the same plane, then they are coplanar |
| Equilateral | If a figure (usually a triangle) has all sides congruent, then it is equilateral |
| Equiangular | If a figure has all angles congruent, then it is equiangular |
| Polygon | If a closed figure is formed by straight line segments, then it is a polygon |
| Regular polygon | If a polygon has all sides congruent and all angles congruent, then it is a regular polygon |
| Angle | If two rays share a common endpoint (called the vertex), then they form an angle |
| Congruent | Having the same size and shape |
| Vertex | A point where two or more rays, segments, or edges meet |
| Slope | How steep a line is (FORMULA: y2 - y1/x2 - x1) |
