How is RSV diagnosed? Nasal swab
RSV management Supplemental O2 until 90 maintained, PRN suctioning, antipyretics to reduce fever, and if severe; bronchodilators
What is racemic epinephrine? Inhaled to improve upper airway occlusion (stridor)
Pediatric asthma sx Bronchoconstriction, inflammation, sputum production, wheezing, chest tightness, SOB, nocturnal coughing.
Pediatric asthma mgmt, and when they need to go to the hospital Bronchodilators, inhaled corticosteroids, Once you require a bronchodilator every hour, thats when you come to the hospital.
