QuestionAnswer
The circulatory system delivers nutrients and oxygen and water to all cells in the body. It carries carbon dioxide and other waste products away from the cells.
The respiratory system takes in oxygen and releases carbon dioxide as we breathe.
The muscular system causes movement.
The skeletal system supports the body, protects organs, allows movement, and makes blood cells.
The nervous system collects and process information.
The digestive system breaks down food into essential nutrients and expels solid waste from the body.
The excretory system removes liquid waste from the body organs: skin lung kidney.
What are the four basic animal tissue types? Nervous epithelial connective and muscle
Frontal lobe “boss” coordinates planning organization behavior and emotions.
Temporal lobe associated with hearing language and olfactory senses.
Parietal lobe processes sensory information related to taste temperature and touch.
Occipital lobe reception of visual stimuli.
What is memory? Information that is stored in the brain from previous experience.
Zoologists study all aspects of animals
Entomology is the study of insects
Herpetologist studies amphibians and reptiles
Ornithologists study birds
Where does photosynthesis occur and what are the products of photosynthesis? In the leaves and chloroplast. Oxygen and sugar.
Cells Cells are the basic unit of life.
tissues Group of cells that perform specific functions.
organs Group of tissues that work together.

What is the difference between a dependent and independent variable? The dependent variable is something that we can control that happens no matter what. Independent variable something that we can control that we can stop from happening happen no matter what.
What are vascular tissues in plants and animals? Transports water and nutrients xylem and phloem blood vessels and veins.

The needs of animals determine this. Types of tissues, organs and organ systems.
List and describe the types of sensory receptors. Mechanics detect pressure movement and tension. Chemical detect chemical signals such as odors and taste. Electromagnetic detects electromagnetic radiation such as light.
What is homeostasis? The process by which the inside of the body maintains stable conditions.
What are the tiny holes on the underside of leaves called (where carbon dioxide enters the leaf)? Stoma
What are sensory structures and list some examples. Skin ears, nose, mouth and eyes tong and antennas Structures that help us gather information.
What are innate and learned behaviors? Innate behavior is something that your born to know and don't have to learn it and learned behaviors you have to learn.
What is a stimulus/stimuli? Different types of sensory receptors respond to different environmental messages,such as light heat or pressure.
What is phototropism and gravitropism? Phototropism is the process of responding to their environment. Gravitropism is a change in direction of plant growth in response to gravity.
