Math geometry key

QuestionAnswer
Acute Angle Angle that measures greater than 0 degrees but less than 90 degrees
Obtuse Angle Angle that measures greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees
Right Angle An angle that is exactly 90 degrees
Straight Angle An angle that measures exactly 180 degrees
Complementary Angles Two angles whose sum is exactly 90 degrees
Supplementary Angles Two angles whose sum is exactly 180 degrees
Adjacent Angles Two angles that share a common side and vertex
Vertical Angles Angles that are opposite from each other when form by intersecting lines.... equal to each other
Congruent equal in measure
Bisect cut in half
Parallel lines never intersect each other
Transversal a line that cuts through 2 or more lines
What is vertical angles relationship? congruent
What is adjacent angles relationship? supplementary
Corresponding angles that are in the same position
What is corresponding angles relationship? congruent
Alternate Interior inside the parallel lines on opposite sides of the transversal
What is alternate interior angles relationship? congruent
Alternate exterior outside the parallel lines on opposite sides of the transversal
What is alternate exterior angles relationships? congruent
Equilateral Triangle three equal sides
Acute Triangle has three angles less than 90 degrees
Isosceles Triangle two equal sides
Right Triangle has one angle = 90 degrees
Scalene Triangle no equal sides
Obtuse Triangle has one side more than 90 degrees
Center The point in the middle of a circle
Chord A line segment with endpoints on the circle
Sector A pie-shaped portion of a circle
Secant A line that intersects the circle at two points
Arc Part of the circumference
Circumference The perimeter or distance around a circle
Diameter A line segment from one side of the circle to the other that passes through the center
Tangent A line that touches a circle at one point
Radius A line segment connecting the circumference to the center
