lunar phases the different appearances of the moon as seen from earth, resulting from the moons position relative to earth and the sun
tide the periodic rise and fall of sea levels caused by the gravitational interactions between earth, the moon, and the sun
gravity the force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth or toward any other physical body having mass
solar eclipse an event where the moon passes between the earth and the sun, blocking all or part of the suns light
lunar eclipse and event where the earth passes between the sun and the moon, causing earths shadow to fall on the moon
spring tide a tide with the greatest difference between high and low water levels
