What is a high pressure system and what does it bring? air sinking that makes it difficult for clouds to form, allowing clear weather
What is a low pressure system and what does it bring? the rising warm air that brings clouds and precipitation
How are Climate and weather related? Climate is the long term average weather
How is Climate determined? average temperatures, kinds of plants, and amount of precipitation
Describe Climate in your area. It gets about 90 degrees in the summer every year
What is weather? the day to day atmospheric conditions
Rain Shadowing an are of low rain fall on the down hill side of the mountain
How is global warming determined? it's the measurement of earth's temperature over the last 100 years
What does a cold front bring? intense precipitation and thunderstorms
What does a warm front bring? long steady rain and rain showers
What is a result of melting ice sheets? a rise of sea level
What happens to earth's solar energy? it can reflect back to space, absorb in the atmosphere, land and water
Which has more constant temperatures? Coastal or island city's? Coastal city's
What causes wind? the movement of air from area's of high pressure to area's of high pressure
What does wind cause? it causes surface currents
