Works cited(n) a list at the end of paper or text that provide readers with the source of information I had my works cited.

Latin root -mittere- (admit) to send forward He had to admit he was guilty.
blight (n/v) a destructive force The abandoned house is a blight to our neighborhood.
maladies (n) diseases, ailments, or persistent problems that affect an individual The doctor treated several different maladies in the small village.
puzzled (adj) describes the state of being confused, bewildered, or unable to understand. The student was puzzled by the math problem.
stricken (n) being seriously affected by an undesirable condition, such as disease, trouble, or powerful emotion The stricken ship began to sink into the sea.
stilness (n) the absence of movement or sound A deep stillness settled over the snowy forest.
deserted (adj) a place that is empty of people or has been abandoned. The deserted streets were eerily quiet at midnight.
emissions (n) release, discharge The car had almost no emissions.
