bias n .general tendency or leaning in one direction partial towards on view The credibility of a source can depend on whether it is biased or not.
counterclaim n.an opposing claim that disagrees with the thesis Even now, the trade in claims and counterclaims remains brisk.
rebuttal n. response to the counterclaim support the claim in an argument or debate The rebuttal can help convince you audience that your claim is better.
purpose n. the intent or aim (reason or objective in writing a text.) The purpose of the author's use of alliteration was to imitate a sound.
audience n. the person or people the text is written for The audience of the speech was the class.
expository techniques n. elements the author uses that focus on the central idea , provide evidence or examples. present logical conclusions On average, 100,000 people use this product daily.
narrative techniques n. elements an author uses to tell a story including description dialogue, pacing, and reflection. The orange glowed like a small, pale sun, its scent sharp enough to cut through the room’s stale air.
citation n. brief reference within the text that provides readers with the source of information. The author's use of citation showed that his text had credibility.
latin prefix in- Invincible impossible to defeat This final boss is basically invincible.
latin root credere crediblity quality of being trustworthy. The source has credibility since it was unbiased.
decipher v. succeed in interpreting or understanding something. Make sure to decipher the code before the guards come.
invincible adj. impossible to defeat. I am invincible after i got powers.
contraption n.machine that seems strange or unnecessarily complicated This contraption can help you auto-grade tests.
newfangled ADJ. invented only recently and therefore, stange-seeming This newfangled invention is very weird.
ingenuity n. quality of being original and clever. His ingenuity helped him achieved 1st place in the state.
improvisations n. Things that are created without any preparation Was your work an improvisation?
engineer n.A person with scientific training who designs and builds machines/products/systems My father is an electrical engineer
generators n.Machines that produce electricity Make sure to turn off the generators before you leave.
current n.Flow of electricity That current will shock you if your not careful
cunning adj.Skillful; clever The villan in Aladin is extremely cunning.
