Counterclaim an opposing claim that disagrees with the thesis N His counterclaim did not make any sense since he supported the rebuttal in that.
Rebuttal Response to the counterclaim. Rebuttals support the claim in an argument/ debate. N His rebuttal was beautifully worded.
Purpose The intent or aim (author’s purpose is his/her reason or objective in writing a text) N His purpose was to educate us.
Audience The person/people for whom a text is written. N His audience was the people at his middle school.
Expository Techniques expository techniques (n) - the elements an author uses that focus on central idea, provide evidence and examples, and present logical conclusions (ex.: facts, statistics, testimony, text, data, main ideas, etc.). N He used expository techniques to enhance his text.

Engineer a person who designs, builds, or maintains machines, structures, or systems. N The engineer quit his job

Current Movement of Electricity N The electrical current was too strong.
