| what is an objective experience | Experiences that are not unique to the individual. Eg. we can objectively say that trees exist. |
| what is a subjective experience | An experience that is unique to the individual. Eg. if I wear sunglasses I can only see the world as dark |
| what is an intersubjective experience? | Experiences that exist between minds. |
| why is understanding different experiences important | It's important because it requires you to understand that not all experiences are the same, and for adherents of a religious tradition, the religious experience changes their way of seeing the world. |
| What is a religious experience | It is a sacred experience that refers to the experiences that are out of the ordinary, that connect you with something beyond yourself. eg going to mass, praying |
| What is a non religious, or normal experience | This is the mundane (normal) experience of everyday life. eg the experience of brushing your teeth every morning |
| How is human need correlated with Ultimate reality | It is essential to understand that human need is the driving force behind the quest for Ultimate reality. Human needs being met allows the individual to learn and grow as a person. |
| What is transcendence | Existence or experience beyond the normal or physical level. |
| How are religion and spirituality correlated | Spirituality is humanity's natural need to connect with something greater than themselves, and religion is a path towards that. It is a set of beliefs about Ultimate reality and includes practices for adherents to follow to connect with it. |

| Define beliefs and give examples | Beliefs are articles of faith that adherents take to true and evident. Eg.there is only one god that god has 3 persons, god-creator of world, son-saviour of humans, holy spirit- god imparts faith |
| Define stories and give an example | Oral or written narratives, usually within sacred texts, that communicate and keep alive the origins and significant events and teachings of a religion. Remains as sources of inspiration and education for the religion. Eg. parables (43) |
| Define Spaces, places | Spaces and places: Special places, and spaces where religious ceremonies take place. Eg. Church is a place and the altar is a space. |
| Define times | Times: Celebrations that are repeated within the religion that form the rhythm of life for the communities of that religion, such as Easter and Christmas. |
| Define artefacts | Artefacts: Sacred objects that are used as an outward focus to enhance religious experience, such as the rosary beads, chalice. |
