Physical and Chemical Reactions

What kind of change is burning paper? Chemical (paper turns to ash)
What kind of change is melting ice? Physical (same matter, different form)
What is a property? Characteristic (how you would describe it) you can observe
What do gas bubbles indicate? (chemical or physical change) Chemical
What is sublimation? Going from solid to gas (skips liquid state)
What is physical change? Matter changes form or appearance (but not substance itself)
What is a chemical change? Matter changes into new substance (cannot be changed back to original substance)
What is rusting? physical or chemical Chemical
What is evidence? Scientific Proof
What kind of change is it when light is emitted (made or shown)? Chemical (such as fireworks)
If you eat a cookie, what kind of change occurs? Chemical (digestion)
What are three main states of matter? Solid, liquid, gas
What kind of change happes when a metal spoon bends in half? physical or chemical change physical (same metal/same spoon)
What is change from solid to liquid? melting
What is condensation? Change from gas to a liquid
What is change from liquid to a gas? vaporization (evaporating)
What is a precipitate? When liquid changes to a solid
What is equilibrium? Balance
What is the Law of Conservation of Mass (Matter)? the mass of reactants must equal the mass of the products
