| Leader | A person who guides others forward, and inspires them |
| Leadership | The ability to inspire others |
| Power | Influence and Control behaviors |
| Position Power | the Power someone holds based on their status |
| Reward Power | The ability to provide positive outcomes |
| Expert Power | A person in a certain field that knows the material and can teach it |
| Identity Power | ability to influence others based on their identity with the person |
| Leadership Style | the manner and approach of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people to accomplish a task |
| Initiative | The ability to take charge and act on it |
| Human Relations | Building and practicing healthy interactions among people |
| Integrity | Quality of being honest |
| Autocratic Leadership | one person controls all the decisions and takes very little inputs from other group members |
| Democratic Leadership | When the leader involves the whole team in making decisions |
| Free-rein Leadership | Provides goals but allows the team total freedom in making their own decisions |
| Delegate | entrust a task or responsibility to another person, typically one who is less senior than oneself |
| Self-managed teams | Employees who operate without direct supervision |
| Open Leader | having the confidence and humility to give up the need to be in control while inspiring commitment from people to accomplish goals |
