| Leader | Someone who directs another's way |
| Leadership | The act of leading |
| Power | Control, authority, or influence over others |
| Position Power | Authority given to someone based off of their formal title/rank |
| Reward Position | Ability of leader in motivate behaviors by providing positive incentives |
| Expert Position | Ability to influence others through ones skills, and/or knowledge |
| Identity Power | Ability to influence others based on their identity with the person |
| Leadership style | The manner and approach of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people to accomplish a task |
| Initiative | Energy displayed in initiation of action |
| Human Relations | A course or program designed to develop better interpersonal and intergroup adjustments |
| Integrity | Firm adherence to a code of more or artistic values |
| Autocratic Leadership | One person controls all the decisions and takes very little inputs from other group members |
| Democratic Leadership | Style of leading where higher ups consult with employees, encouraging collaboration and participation in decision-making |
| Free-rain Leadership | Hands off management where leaders provide minimal direction, allowing highly skilled teammates to make decisions and manage their own work. |
| Delegate | Entrust a task or responsibility to another person, typically one who is less senior than oneself |
| Self-managed teams | Empowered groups that organize and control their own work toward shared goals, deciding who and what to do tasks and how. |
| Open leader | Having the confidence and humility to give up the need to be in control while inspiring commitment from people to accomplish goals |
| Situational Leader | An adaptable leader who modifies their management style, and approach to fit the specific task |
