Why Did Rebekah need to comfort Isaac? His mother died and he was sad when Rebekah came to meet him so she comforted him
Rebekah and Isaac shared a beautiful married love. OF what does St. Paul say married love should remind us? It should remind us of the love CHrist has for the Church and that He is a part of the marriage
What did God tell Rebekah when she was afraid that her unborn babies might die? There are twin nations in her womb and one will serve the other
What was the importance of being the firstborn son? You inherit the birthright
What did it mean to inherit the birthright? It meant that you would get God's covenant and the Land in Canaan
What did Esau give to Jacob for a bowl of red pottage? His birthright because he would do anything for food
How did Jacob receive his father's special blessing? Abraham was blind and Rebekah and Jacob tricked him by using lambskin over Jacob's arm when Esau was away
What consequences were suffered by Isaac's family because of their sinful behavior? Jacob was banished to his uncle's house and his family never saw him again. His brother hated him and wanted him dead. Rebekah lost both her children
How did Jacob feel when he arrived at Bethel? Sad because his uncle was making him work to live there and
Describe the vision in Jacob's dream God was desscending from a ladder and talked to him with many angels around. He made promises to him
What promises did God make to Jacob in his dream? The promises made to Abraham and Isaac were renewed. PRomised to always protect him, not leave alone and bring back to his land
