| Family Characteristics | Information about the family such as type, family size, background, status, coping styles, and special conditions. |
| Family Systems Theory | The individual behavior in context of family and understanding the family behavior in the context of other social systems is the basic principle. |
| Work-family conflict | Demands of work interfere with the demands of the family or vise visa. |
| Family Interactions | Family cohesion and adaptability, important determinants of the health of a family. |
| Cohesion | Degree to which an individual family member is free to act independently of other family members |
| Adaptability | Families are able to change their modes of interaction when they encounter unusual or stressful situations. |
| Family Functions | Families engage to meet their many and diverse needs-economic, daily care, social, medical, and educational. |
| Behavioral Parent Training | Focus on child behavior to relieve stress relations in the family |
