keystone species an organism that is so important to an ecosystem that removing it causes that ecosystem to collapse
endothermic describes animals that make their own internal body heat
exothermic describes animals that cannot make enough internal body heat on their own and rely on external sources
biodiversity the number of different types of all living things in an area
species a group of organisms that can breed together and produce fertile offspring
genetic diversity differences between individuals of the same species
species diversity the number of different species in the area, and the number of individuals that belong to each species
ecosystem diversity refers to the different types of habitats in an area
ecosystem resilience how quickly the habitat recovers after disruption
