QuestionAnswer
Summary Stating the main events that happened in the story IN ORDER.
Short Constructed Response (SCR) A short typed answer that includes the RAC parts of the RACE strategy. Usually just a couple sentences long.
Theme The overall message of the story. What the author is trying to teach you. Example: Be a good friend.
Combine Sentences To put two sentences together into one sentence.
Evidence Proof in the text to support your answer Ex: In paragraph 7, Marie said , "I don't like spaghetti." Therefore, I know she didn't pick that to eat for dinner.
Conclude To come to a conclusion about something- Similar to an inference
Imagery Using details and descriptions that appeal to the reader's senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, sound)
Editing Correcting sentences for mistakes (punctuation, capitalization, etc.)
