| Leader | a person or animal who leads |
| Leadership | the office or position of a leader |
| Power | ability to act or produce an effect |
| position power | the authority and influence granted to an individual |
| Reward power | the ability of a leader or influencer to motivate desired behaviors by providing positive, tangible, or intangible incentives, such as bonuses, promotions, or praise |
| expert power | a form of personal power based on an individual's superior knowledge, skills, experience, or expertise in a specific subject |
| identity Power | ability to influence others based on their identity with the person |
| Leadership Style | the manner and approach of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people to accomplish a task |
| initiative | an introductory step |
| Human relations | a study of human problems arising from organizational and interpersonal relations (as in industry) |
| Integrity | firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values |
| Autocratic leadership | one person controls all the decisions and takes very little inputs from other group members |
| Democratic leadership | a management style that empowers team members by involving them in the decision-making process |
| Free-rein Leadership | freedom of action or expression. |
| Delegate | entrust a task or responsibility to another person, typically one who is less senior than oneself |
| Self-managed teams - | empowered groups that organize and control their own work toward shared goals, deciding what, who, and when tasks are done, requiring autonomy, shared responsibility, clear boundaries, and strong internal communication |
| Open leader | having the confidence and humility to give up the need to be in control while inspiring commitment from people to accomplish goals |
| situational leader | adapts their management style—ranging from high directive to high supportive—based on the specific task and the competence and commitment (maturity level) of team members |
