Application A form used to apply for a job
Eligibility Meeting the requirements for a job
Availability The days and times you are able to work
References People who can speak about your character or work habits
Certification Proof you completed training or earned a credential
Background Check Review of a person’s history (education or work-related records)
Employment History List of past jobs or work experiences
Resume A one-page summary of your skills, education, and experience
Objective A short statement explaining your career or job goal
Skills Abilities you have (communication, teamwork, problem-solving)
Experience Jobs, volunteer work, or internships you’ve completed
Education Schools attended and degrees or diplomas earned
Accomplishments Achievements or successes
Transferable Skills Skills that apply to many jobs (time management, leadership)
Formatting How a resume is organized and designed
Interview A meeting where an employer asks questions to learn about you
First Impression The opinion formed during the first meeting
Professionalism Appropriate behavior, appearance, and communication
Body Language Nonverbal signals like eye contact, posture, and gestures
Communication Skills Ability to clearly speak and listen
Strengths Skills or qualities you do well
Weaknesses Areas you are working to improve
Follow-Up Contact made after the interview
Cover Letter A formal letter sent with a resume to introduce yourself
Introduction Paragraph The opening that explains why you are applying
Qualifications Skills or experiences that make you a good fit for the job
Employer The person or company offering the job
Position The job title you are applying for
Connection How your skills match the job requirements
Formal Tone Polite and professional language
Closing Statement The final paragraph that thanks the employer and asks for an interview
Thank-You Letter A message sent after an interview to show appreciation
Gratitude Being thankful for the opportunity
Appreciation Expressing thanks and respect
Professional Courtesy Polite and respectful communication
Reiterate To restate your interest in the job
Opportunity The chance to apply or interview for a position
Timely Sent soon after the interview (usually within 24–48 hours)
Signature Your name at the end of a letter
