wetlands estuarine areas of high elevations that are periodically covered with water.
brackish water that is less salty than freshwater.
stenohaline species species that can tolerate a narrow range of salinities.
channels estuarine areas where water is present during both high and low tide.
meiofauna microscopic organisms living in between marine sediment particles.
mudflats wide expanses of an estuary that are exposed during low tide.
estuary a semi-enclosed body of water where seawater meet and mix.
euryhaline species species that can tolerate a wide range of salinities.
