Vector A quantity has both magnitude and direction
displacement The difference between the initial or starting point and the final point
speed a measure of distance you choose to describe an object travels in a given amount of time
velocity the speed and direction of a moving object
reference point the process of changing positions
position an object's distance from a reference point
motion The starting point you choose to be describe the location, position, object
acceleration A measure of the change in velocity during a period of time
force a push or pull on a object
contact force a push or a pull on on object by another object by another object that is touching it
newton 2 law law that states that the acceleration of an object is equal to the neet force exerted on the object divided by the object's mass
friction a contact force that resists the sliding motion of two surfaces that are touching
free body diagram a simple model to understand what happen to an object due to a force
net force the combo of all forces acting on an object
newton 1 law an object at rest will stay rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion unless a force acts on the object
