TermDefinition
Geometry A type of math that studies the size and shape of objects.
Classify Arranging objects into groups based on some property.
Justify To provide an explanation for your thinking.
Point An exact location.
Vertex Where two lines or sides meet to form a corner.
Line A straight path that goes on forever in both directions.
Line Segment Part of a line that has a beginning and end point.
Intersecting Lines Crosses at one point.
Parallel Lines Lines the same distance apart that will never cross (intersect).
Perpendicular Lines Lines that intersect to form 4 right angles.
Congruent Objects that have the same size and shape.
Symmetry Exactly the same on both sides when folded in half.
Acute Angle An angle that measures less than 90 degrees.
Obtuse Angle An angle that measures greater than 90 but less than 180 degrees.
Right Angle An angle that measures exactly 90 degress.
Triangle Has 3 sides and 3 angles.
Acute Triangle A polygon that has 3 angles measuring less than 90 degrees.
Obtuse Triangle A polygon that has 3 angles but one is greater than 90 degrees.
Right Triangle A polygon that has 3 angles but one is 90 degrees.
Polygon Flat shape made up of line segments called sides. All sides are straight and must be a closed shape.
