| Appeal | make a serious or urgent request, typically to the public. |
| Chastise | punish, especially by beating. |
| Reluctantly | in an unwilling and hesitant way. |
| Petulantly | unreasonably irritable, peevish, or childishly sulky, usually in response to a minor annoyance |
