Research a systematic, evidence-based inquiry designed to discover, interpret, or revise knowledge
Observation the active, systematic process of noticing, monitoring, and recording behaviors, events, or data using the senses or scientific instruments to gain knowledge
Inference a logical conclusion or educated guess drawn from evidence, observations, and prior knowledge.
Hypothesis a tentative, testable, and falsifiable explanation for an observed phenomenon, acting as an educated guess or starting point for further investigation
Experiment a controlled, repeatable procedure designed to test a hypothesis, investigate cause-and-effect, or demonstrate a known fact
Independent Variable An independent variable is the "cause" or input that a researcher changes or controls, while the dependent variable is the "effect" or outcome that is measured, as its value depends on the changes made to the independent variable.
Dependent Variable Independent variables are what we expect will influence dependent variables
Controlled Variable factors kept intentionally unchanged throughout an experiment to ensure a fair test
Control a standard, baseline, or comparison point used to measure the effect of an independent variable, often by keeping other factors constant in an experiment, or as a mechanism to regulate processes and ensure they meet desired standards, like in management
Data a value or set of values representing a specific concept or concepts
Conclusion the final part of a discourse, argument, or process that summarizes main points, offers a final judgment or result, and provides closure, leaving a lasting impression or suggesting broader implications
Analyze to study it in detail by breaking it down into its parts to understand its nature, discover its meaning, identify key factors, and see how the components relate to each other and the whole
Scientific Bias systematic, often unintentional, errors in the design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation phases of research that lead to inaccurate, skewed, or non-objective results
Data trends Focus on processing data instantly for immediate decision-making, fueled by edge computing and faster data pipelines.
