| Individualized family service plans (IFSPs) | A plan mandated by PL 99-457 to provide services for young children (under 3) with disabilities and their family: drawn up my professionals and parents |
| Family-centered model | A consumer driven model that encourages the family to make its own decisions with respect to services while mobilizing resources and supports for the families goals. |
| Wraparound service systems | Involve using not only educational services but also available community services (mental health, social welfare) in order to meet the individualized needs of children and their families. |
| Family systems theory | Stresses that the individual's behavior is best understood in the context of the family and the family's behavior is best understood in the context of other social systems. |
| Work Family conflict | refers to situations in which the demand of work interfere with the demands of the family and vise versa. |
| Family Interactions | a competent of the Turnbull's family systems model refers to how cohesive and adaptable the family is. |
| Cohesion | refers to the degree to which an individual family member is free to act independently of other family members. |
