Position and Motion

| Reference point | The Starting to describe location/position |
| Positions | distance and direction from a reference point |
| Motion | is the process of changing position |
| Displacement | difference between the initials |
| Speed | Speed is the distance an object travels |
| Velocity | is the speed of a moving object |
| Vector | a quantity that has magnitude and direction |
| Acceleration | Is a measure of the change in velocity during a period of time. |
| Force | Is a push or a pull on an object |
| Contact Force | Is a push or a pull on one object b another object that is touching it |
| Newtons second law | states that the acceleration of an object equals the net of force on the object divided by the objects mass |
| Friction | Is a force that resist the sliding motion of two surfaces that are touching |
| Free-body-diagram | Is a simple model to understand systems of objects with any amount of applied forces |
| Net force | Is the sum of all the forces acting on an object |
| Newtons first law | States that an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted by force |
