What is federalism? A system of government that divides and shares power between a central national government and regional state or local governments.
In what civilization did democracy first appear? Early ancient Rome.
What is democracy? A system of government where supreme power is vested in the people, exercised directly or through elected representatives.
What is the majority rule? A decision-making system where the option receiving over 50% of the votes wins.
What are the downsides to majority rule? It can lead to 'tyranny of the majority,' where minority interests are ignored.
What is a pluralistic society? A diverse community where multiple cultural, ethnic, religious, and social groups coexist.
Why is government necessary? To provide order, security, essential public services, economic stability, and to protect individual rights.
Name 2 obligations of government. Providing public safety and order, and ensuring justice and the common welfare.
How can Christians participate in government? By voting for candidates supporting biblical values and advocating for justice.
What is another way Christians can participate in government? By praying for leaders and the nation's peace.
What is a third way Christians can engage in government? By running for office or supporting faith-based advocacy groups.
