Exceptionality and Special Ed

| Traumatic brain injury | Damaged to the brain with physical force. |
| Intellectual disability | A long-time condition that limits functioning. |
| Emotional disturbance | Emotional or behavioral responses that could affect educational performance. |
| Behavioral disorders | Patterns of behavior that could be a challenge in children and functioning at home. |
| Deinstitutionalization | Process of moving individuals with disabilities to community-based settings. |
| Legislation | Progress in meeting the needs of special educational accommodations to students. |
| Ed for all handicapped children act | Provide free appropriate education for all children with disabilities. |
| Individuals with disabilities education act | A federal law ensuring that children from birth to 21 to get free public education who has disabilities. |
