1. What is an ecosystem? A community of organisms that interact with their environment.
2. What is ecology? The study of the relationship between an organism and its environment.
3. What is a producer's job in an ecosystem? To make food and oxygen for animals.
4. Why are animals important to an ecosystem? They produce carbon dioxide.
5. What is the difference between biotic and abiotic factors? 5.Biotic factors are living things and abiotic factors are nonliving things.
6. What would happen if there were no abiotic factors in an ecosystem? Plants would be unable to grow and produce oxygen for the animals.
7. What are three examples of biotic factors in an ecosystem? Plants, animals, and bacteria.
8. What does a plant or animal need to survive in an ecosystem? Food, shelter, water, air, sunlight
9. Why are rainforest ecosystems important? Rainforests are responsible for about 40% of the oxygen we breathe!
10. How do animals respond to seasonal changes in an ecosystem? Some animals migrate, and some hibernate.
