| Subculture | a culture that is associated with or part of a larger culture; a culture that is not the entire culture of a nation or other entity. Sometimes called "micro culture", but a subculture is not necessarily small or minority of a larger culture |
| Exceptionally group | people who share a collection of specific abilities or disabilities |
| Curriculum-based measurement (CBM) | a formative evaluation method design to evalute performance in the curriculum to which students are exposed; usually involoves givig students a proponents argue that CBM is preferable to comparing students with national norms or nonreflect curriculum test |
| Classwide peer tutoring (CWPT) | an instructional pprocedure in which all students in the class are involved in tutoring and being tutored by classmates on specific skills as directed by their teacher |
| Sheltered-English approach | an method in which language-minority students are taught all their subjects in English at a level that is modified constantly according to individual's needs |
| Factions | a small organized dissenting group within a larger one, especially in politics. |
| Clans | a small organized dissenting group within a larger one, especially in politics. |
| Tribes | a social group, often comprising multiple families or clans, defined by shared culture, language, traditions, and, frequently, a specific geographic territory |
| Gangs | groups of three or more youth or young adults (typically aged 12–24) who associate on a recurring basis, share a common identity (often using symbols, colors, or signs), and engage in delinquent or criminal activity that disrupts the school environment |
| Justice | ensuring fair, equitable access to high-quality learning opportunities and resources for all students, regardless of their background, race, socioeconomic status, or ability |
| Equity | ensures every student receives the specific resources, support, and opportunities they need to achieve their full academic potential, regardless of background, race, income, or ability |
| Diversity | the presence of, and respect for, a wide range of human differences within a learning environment |
