| NEPHROLOGY | branch of medicine concerned with the kidneys |
| BLEPHARTIS | inflammation of the eyelid |
| PLEURISY | inflimmation of the pleura (membrane that lines each of the thorax) |
| HYSTERECTOMY | surgival removal of the uterus |
| MYOPIA | a condition in which the visual images come to a focus in front of the retina of the eye resulting in defective distant vision |
| MENISCUS | a crescent-shapped body; a concave-convex lens |
| RETINA | the sensory membrane that lines the eye and recieves images |
| CORNEA | the transparent part of the coat of the eyeball that covers the iris and pupil and admits light |
| CAUDEL | relating to or situated near the tail (tailbone) |
| OPHTHALMOLOGY | the branch of medical science dealing with the structure, functions, and disease of the eye |
| EMBOLUS | an abnormal particle circulating in the blood |
| ENCEPHALITIS | inflammation of the brain |
| SCHIZOPHRENIA | a psychotic disorder charecterized by loss of contact with the environment |
| MALAISE | an indefinite feeling of debility or lack of health |
| PARESTHESIA | sensation of tingling or creeping of the skin |
| CIRRHOSIS | widespread liver malfunction |
| DIARRHEA | flow through; intestinal evacuations |
| DIAPHRAGM | the body partition of muscle and tissue |
| ADDUCTION | to draw (as a limb) toward or past the median axis of the body |
| BILIRUBIN | breakdown of old and damaged red blood cells. The liver helps to eliminate bilirubin as waste. |
