Multicultural Competence in Special Education

TermDefinition
Classwide Peer Tutoring (CWPT) A teaching method where students help each other learn by taking turns tutoring and being tutored during class.
Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) Short, quick assessments teachers use to check how students are doing and track their progress in class.
Exceptionality Group A category used to group students with similar disabilities or learning needs to help plan support.
Multicultural Education Teaching that includes and respects students from different cultures and backgrounds.
Sheltered English Approach A way of teaching English learners by using clear language, visuals, and activities so they can understand lessons while learning English.
Subcultures Smaller groups within a larger culture that share similar values, traditions, or experiences.
