What is Taxation? A compulsory money payment to the state by businesses and individuals
What are the purposes of taxation? To raise money for government work: building roads, schools To make people be discouraged from bad items such as alcohol, cigarettes these have high taxes Stop Inflation: Getting rid of the supply of goods in the economy Make people buy inside
What is Direct Tax? Tax on income and wealth paid by a business of individual: Income Tax Corporate Tax: tax paid on profits earned Capital Tax: tax paid on increase value of assets Capital transfer: tax paid for when a property is transferred from one person to another
