QuestionAnswer
Three types of data presentation? Graphical, tabular, textual.
Purpose of data presentation? Make data clear, meaningful, and interpretable.
Define graphical presentation. Visual display of patterns, trends, and relationships.
Define tabular presentation. Numerical data arranged in rows and columns.
Define textual presentation. Data explained through sentences or paragraphs.
When use a pie chart? To show relative frequencies of categories.
When use a bar graph? To compare category frequencies quickly.
When use a histogram? To show distribution of continuous data.
When use a line graph? To show changes over time.
When use a scatter plot? To show correlation between variables.
Key rule for bar graphs? Start at zero to avoid distortion.
Key rule for pie charts? Limit to five slices.
Key rule for tables? Use consistent decimal places.
Key rule for graphics? Avoid clutter, distortion, and 3D effects.
Overall goal of data presentation? Communicate information clearly and accurately.
