ARGUMENT TERMS

QuestionAnswer
Ethos Emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority. Examples: celebrity, titles, professions.
Pathos Appeals to the audiences emotions. Examples: personal story, powerful image, or sad videos.
Logos Appeals to the audience's logic or reason. Example:data, facts, test results, personal experience.
Argument When the author wants to convince you of their position.
Claims The author's main point.
Relevant Evidence When the author uses to support their claim.
Counterclaim The opposite viewpoint of the author's claim.
Rebuttal When the author responds directly to the counterclaim.
Credible The author is able to be believed and trusted.
