ARGUMENT TERMS

| Ethos | Emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority. Examples: celebrity, titles, professions. |
| Pathos | Appeals to the audiences emotions. Examples: personal story, powerful image, or sad videos. |
| Logos | Appeals to the audience's logic or reason. Example:data, facts, test results, personal experience. |
| Argument | When the author wants to convince you of their position. |
| Claims | The author's main point. |
| Relevant Evidence | When the author uses to support their claim. |
| Counterclaim | The opposite viewpoint of the author's claim. |
| Rebuttal | When the author responds directly to the counterclaim. |
| Credible | The author is able to be believed and trusted. |
