Rites (noun) Formal or ceremonial acts performed according to tradition or custom.
Ordinance (noun) An official law, rule, or religious practice
Calamity (noun) A great disaster or misfortune causing serious damage or distress.
Reverence (noun) Deep respect or admiration, often for something sacred.
Irreverence (noun) A lack of respect for people or things that deserve honor.
Summon (verb) To call upon someone to appear or to bring something into existence.
Sanctify (verb) To make holy; to set apart as sacred.
Spectacle (noun) An impressive or shocking sight that attracts attention.
Gorge (noun) A narrow valley with steep rocky sides. (verb) To eat a large amount of food greedily or to indulge excessively.
Yoke (noun) A wooden frame used to join animals for work.
Ravage (verb) To cause severe and widespread damage
Cunning (adjective) Clever in a deceptive or sly way.
Conniving (adjective) Secretly planning or allowing something dishonest or harmful to happen.
Contrivance (noun) A device or plan created to achieve a particular purpose.
Oath (noun) A solemn promise or vow, often invoking a divine witness.
Thrash (verb) To beat or strike violently; to move wildly.
