Cardiovascular and Lymphatic Systems

Where is the heart located? Between the lungs
What are the three (3) layers of the heart? Endocardium, Myocardium, Epicardium
Endocardium Inside lining; lines the chambers and valves
Myocardium Thick muscular layer that makes up the heart wall
Epicardium Outside thin lining, covers the heart
Pericardium Surrounding the fibrous sac (lowkey a sac that protects the heart when its pumping from rubbing directly against the throat)
Atria Upper receiving chambers (singular: Atrium)
Ventricles Lower pumping chambers (singular: Ventricle)
Chambers separated by what Septa (walls)
Blood flow through the heart part 1.? Right atrium receives blood from body
Blood flow through the body 2.? Enters the right ventricle and is pumped to the lungs
Blood flow through the body 3.? Oxygenated blood returns to left atrium
Blood flow through the body 4.? Enters the left ventricle and is pumped to the rest of the body
Blood flow through the body 5.? One-way valves force blood flow forward
Blood flow through the body 6.? Heart sounds produce when valves close
