| Rocks | Solid masses that are composed of one or more minerals |
| Minerals | Natural, solid substances that have an ordered, repeating arrangement of atoms or molecules of form of Crystal structure |
| Rock cycle | Natural processes that cause rocks from one type to another over a long period of time |
| Sedimentary rock | Rocks for from sediments being in compacted together and cemented over a long period of time |
| Metamorphic rock | Rocks for deep underground from existing rocks. Existing rocks are changed over a long period of time due to heat from magma and the pressure of the layers above |
| Igneous rock | Rocks formed when molten rock from beneath earth surface cools, and hardens |
| Sediment | Small pieces of weathered rock |
| Weathering | The breaking down of rocks and Earth materials through water, wind and ice |
| Compaction | Sediments being impressed together due to the pressure of earths layers |
| Cementation | Sediments sticking together |
