Argument

TermDefinition
Argument When the author wants to convince you of their position.
Claim The author's main point.
Rebuttal When the author responds directly to the counterclaim.
Evidence What the author uses to support their claim.
Credibility When the author is able to be believed and trusted.
Counterclaim The opposite viewpoint of the author's claim.
Ethos Emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority.
Pathos Appeals to the audiences emotions.
Logos Appeals to the audiences logic of reason.
