| claims | the author's main point. |
| relevant evidence | what the author uses to support their claim. |
| counterclaim | the opposing viewpoints of the author's claim. |
| rebuttal | when the author responds directly to the counterclaim. |
| credible | the author is able to be believed and trusted. |
| Ethos | emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority, conveys trustworthiness expertise, values, etc. |
| pathos | appeals to the audience's emotions, uses emotion to influence an audience to believe or do something. |
| logos | appeals to the audience's logic or reason, it uses proof to influence an audience. |
